A day in the life of an Ingliston Wedding Planner
Nyree Hamilton is one of Ingliston’s senior and most experienced Wedding Planners and has been with Ingliston since June 2011. We catch up with her to find out more about Ingliston as a wedding venue and what it’s like to be a wedding planner.
What are the key responsibilities for a wedding planner?
Ingliston has fast become a leading luxury wedding venue in the West Of Scotland and much has changed since I started here 6 years ago; every day is different.
Wedding planning is certainly about detail and providing the couple to be married with all the necessary information and assurances that their day will be to their taste and satisfaction. Ingliston is a stunning Wedding venue and ultimately appeals to a wide variety of couples, given that we have two unique wedding suites; each with their own style and capacities.
My role is to firstly satisfy potential clients that Ingliston Country Club is the right choice of wedding venue for them, listening to their plans and expectations for the day; whilst always considering their individual needs and of course our availability. Once their wedding day is booked, we assist couples as much as we can with their arrangements to ensure that their special day goes smoothly.
What makes Ingliston different to other West of Scotland wedding venues?
Ingliston is a five star country club located in Bishopton, Renfrewshire and is set in idyllic surroundings with fantastic views over the Clyde. As mentioned we have two wedding function suites to choose from on site; Salerno and Connemara, each different in size and style. We have accommodation on site; with our boutique hotel and lodges allowing up to 6 to stay for weddings.
Whilst we have a countryside location, we are just minutes from Glasgow Airport and a mile off the M8, so many people see Ingliston as a convenient, central location for guests to travel from Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and often further away.
We also have our own Hair & Beauty spa and having that on site is a huge convenience to wedding parties when it comes to hair and makeup for the big day. Our award winning catering team are second to none and are well equipped to handle wedding receptions of all sizes.
What is your favourite part of your job?
We invest a lot of care and attention to detail in helping to make our couples wedding day special. Many of our newlyweds are very generous in writing to us after their celebration and that means a lot to know that, we as a team, delivered a great day for them.
Many couples come back for dinner at Palomino’s or stay with us again as a post wedding celebration – there are still many familiar faces over the years. I find people’s stories of how they met is always interesting and of course many people want their personality to be expressed at the wedding reception; with our approved wedding suppliers we are truly able to help couples personalise their day and create something really unique and special to them.
What is the best way for people to discover Ingliston as a potential wedding venue?
Our wedding team has grown substantially in recent months, and we take great pride in our personal approach to wedding planning. Couples are most welcome to make an appointment with a member of our wedding team to discuss their day and we always provide a tour of the Country Club and our suites. We also host regular monthly wedding open evenings and exhibit at a number of wedding events in Glasgow throughout the year.
We are very active on Social Media so you can keep up to date with us via our Facebook, Instagram or twitter.
